In the quiet town of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Rob’s fascination with the cosmos began under some of the darkest skies imaginable. Each star sparked curiosity, each constellation an invitation to dream. In 2019, he took his first steps into astrophotography, turning his lifelong passion for space into a tangible craft. Surrounded by pristine Bortle class 4 skies—and just a short drive from the legendary Bortle class 1—Rob found himself capturing the beauty of the universe, one frame at a time.
But life had other plans. A series of events led Rob to set aside his gear and pause his astrophotography journey. Years passed, and a new chapter began in Surprise, Arizona. Under the brighter, more challenging Bortle class 5 skies, Rob is rediscovering his love for the stars. For him, it’s no longer about perfect conditions—it’s about perseverance and creativity in the face of new challenges.
Professionally, Rob’s journey has been just as remarkable. From his initial dreams of teaching Earth and Space Science, he found his calling in engineering, working on cutting-edge lasers for semiconductor manufacturing. This career shift reflects the same precision and innovation that drive his astrophotography.
Starting over isn’t easy, but Rob sees this as a chance to grow. With new equipment and a fresh perspective, he’s diving back into the cosmos, ready to document his successes, setbacks, and discoveries. Whether it’s the glow of a nebula or the shimmer of distant galaxies, Rob’s journey is an inspiring tale of passion, resilience, and the timeless allure of the stars.
